GameFly Review! Rent Video Games Online
If you’ve ever heard of NetFlix, you know what’s up with GameFly. GameFly is a similar service specifically for video games, providing mail delivery for thousands of games with no late fees, no due dates, and no delivery costs. It’s simply the best way to play games on a budget, period.
Before signing up, I had my doubts. What if things get lost in the mail? What if a game comes to me all scratched up? A free trial offer convinced me to give it a shot and I haven’t looked back since (you can cancel with no charges if your not satisfied during the free trial). All you do is choose the games you want, and GameFly sends them to you, and you keep them as long as you want. They’re shipped in a mailer that includes a padded return envelope with no postage necessary; return a game, and they send another to you. It couldn’t be any simpler.
The biggest advantage to GameFly is their selection of titles. They carry Playstation 2 and 3, XBox, XBox 360, Nintendo Wii, Gamecube, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS and Sony PSP titles and movies, with a huge catalog of current and previous releases. New releases are always there on time, and if you’re looking for something slightly obscure from, say, three years ago, you’ll probably find it. The website is extremely easy to navigate, as well. Video game names and keywords can be searched for, or games can be browsed by most recent release, most popular, upcoming release, or even by platform and genre. The website also provides screenshots, rankings, and links to reviews.
GameFly is not only a video game rental company but they sell video games as well. They call this the “buy it” option available on most titles, which bills your account for a game you’re renting and lets you keep that game while GameFly sends the original box and instructions and ships the next game on your list. The “buy it” prices are way more competitive then any other retailers who sell preowned or new games. Why would anyone pay $59.99 for new games? If your a GameFly member you can buy these titles used for half the price usually.
Preowned titles can be purchased outright, without renting, as well, and again the prices are fantastic. Gift certificates are available for use for either “buy it” or preowned purchases, and existing members can earn credits toward purchases through referrals or the GameFly rewards system.
Gamefly has a rewards system for established members. Every three months, you’ll get a $5 credit toward a “buy it” option or a used game, After six months, you’ll get a permanent 5% discount on all purchases. After 12 months, that gets upgraded to 10%. This makes all of the prices incredibly low if you choose to buy any games that you are currently renting. After using this service for over a year (I’m a level 3 member now) I would never go back to paying high retail prices for new games.
Summary:
GameFly is a great video game rental service. They offer a comprehensive selection of video games and a free trial. With GameFly you’ll never be bored! Try it out today by clicking on the banner on the top of this page. Parents if you have kids who love video games signing up for this service will save you hundreds and maybe thousands of dollars every year by not having to pay expensive video game retail prices!

Is it true that you should get some kind of bill from Gamefly saying that your Free Membership Trial has ended and everything that applies with it is listed? Or is everything done online?
